Is this bad for the rim to hand off the wall vertically? I know the loads are heavier when you sit on it, but this force is acting on the rim in the opposite direction. Secondly - I've heard this may cause issues with disc brakes on mountain bikes. Do I need to be concerned or not. cheers,

What height clearance do I need to keep the bikes just off the ground?

"Hi Michael, it depends on the length of the bikes and the height of your room. The longest hooks are 12", so you need 12" plus the length of your bike, plus the space you prefer to the floor.

How tall is the wall bracket, as in how far are the bolt holes apart. Are the hooks fixed or do they slide?

The hooks are fixed and do not move.
